A woman hospitalized in Tennessee got her dying wish granted when she was able to watch her son graduate from high school.
She is being cared for at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.
Staffers there helped family members plan a special ceremony in a big room at the hospital. They wheeled Northcott’s bed into the room, and she watched as her son Dalton Jackson graduated from high school in a special ceremony.
Halls High School Principal Suzanne Keefe, who became visibly emotional during the ceremony, handed Jackson his graduation certificate.
Jackson then helped his mother out of bed and they shared a special dance together.
The ceremony was held about two weeks before the official graduation ceremony at the high school.
People on Facebook said they were touched by the footage.
“So BEAUTIFUL, but SO heartbreaking at the same time! I’ve had to pause this several times to get myself together! God Bless each and every one of you!!!!” said one user.
“One of the most special moments I’ve ever witnessed! And I’m so proud my daughter had a part in it. And a great Birthday present for Dalton!” added another.
“I don’t know this kid, nor his family. But my prayers are with all of you. This has got to be the most heart-wrenching thing I’ve ever seen in my life!!! Way to halls high school!!” added another.
