A confrontation over the quality of a haircut at a Bronx, New York, barbershop turned violent on Friday, Feb. 23.

Authorities are looking for three suspects accused of attacking the barber after one of them refused to pay for a haircut.

The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. at the Diamond Cuts barbershop located at 563 E. Tremont Ave, PIX11 reported.
The manager of the barbershop told NBC that the fight all started over a “messed up haircut.” The haircut cost $15.
Witnesses said the 53-year-old barber was the initial aggressor in the incident, as he refused to let his client leave without paying, FOX5NY reported.

Even after others in the shop offered to pay for the haircut, the barber still would not let the client leave. According to NBC, he had only been working at the shop for a few weeks.

“No, you’re not fixing nothing! I want my money!” the barber said, according to the New York Post.

The client retaliated by hitting the barber with a brush before fleeing the shop.

Outside, the barber held the client’s car door and swung a fist at him before another man and woman—both known by the client—joined the fight. They allegedly struck the barber with a baseball bat, NBC reported.

The three suspects then fled the scene in a 2014 Nissan Altima with a New Jersey license plate, #E24-FZX.

The barber, whose identity was not released, was transported to the hospital with an elbow fracture and had to get 15 stitches on his face, PIX11 reported.

According to NBC, the client had been coming to the barbershop since he was only 5 years old.

The NYPD wants to question the client and his two friends, before making the decision as to whether to charge them.

The barber in question has been fired, according to FOX5NY.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
