‘Brief Confrontation’ Before Fatal Shooting at Recreation Center in San Diego

SAN DIEGO—A man who was fatally shot multiple times in the chest at the North Clairemont Recreation Center had “a brief confrontation” with two other men just before the shooting, police said Feb. 20.

The shooting happened at 11:50 a.m. Sunday at 4421 Bannock Ave. The victim was with two other people at the center, where families have gathered along with young basketball players, according to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD).
