A shooting at a nightclub in Alabama has left at least four people dead and multiple others injured, according to police reports.
The shooting occurred late on July 13 in the city of Birmingham, police confirmed.
According to the preliminary investigation, shots were fired from the street by at least one shooter into the nightclub, which is located at the 3400 block of 27th Street North.
Police responded to the incident at around 11 p.m. local time and found multiple gunshot victims at the scene.
“Right now, the Birmingham Police Department is conducting a quadruple homicide investigation. Multiple people were shot at a nightclub,” Birmingham Officer Truman Fitzgerald said in a statement on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Another man died after being taken to hospital, Mr. Fitzgerald said.
Police have not released information identifying any suspects in the shooting, and no arrests have been made as of July 14.
Moreover, no information relating to possible motives for the shooting has been released.
“Detectives are working to determine what led to shots being fired and the victims being shot. Our federal partners have deployed to the scene and are assisting Birmingham police officers in this investigation,” according to Mr. Fitzgerald.
For any information that can lead to an arrest in the incident, police are offering a reward of up to $5,000.

Jordan Melton, 29, succumbed to his injuries following the incident, while Jamal Jones sustained life-altering injuries.
