At Least 8 People Hit By Vehicle near San Diego City College, Driver Detained

SAN DIEGO—A driver was detained on suspicion of hitting at least eight pedestrians with a vehicle this morning near San Diego City College in downtown San Diego’s East Village neighborhood, a police officer said.

There was no immediate word on injuries resulting from the crash, which was reported shortly after 9:05 a.m. in the 1400 block of B Street, between 16th Street and Park Boulevard, San Diego police Officer Scott Lockwood said.

At least eight pedestrians were struck by the vehicle, and the motorist was detained at the scene, Lockwood said.

No further details about the driver or the victims were immediately available.
