Aspiring Model Fatally Shot While Driving to Work: Reports

A Georgia woman who was aspiring to be a model was fatally shot while driving to work, and it was only revealed after an investigation into the car crash.

Kelsey Quayle, 28, was on her way to work in Clayton County on Monday, Oct.8 when she drove into oncoming traffic and hit three other cars, WGCL reported.

She was taken to Southern Regional Medical Center with critical injuries and was later taken to another hospital. Doctors then determined that she had been shot in the neck before the crash.

“Upon her being transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, it was found she had suffered a gunshot wound,” Capt. Scott Stubbs of the Clayton County Police Department told WSB-TV.

Her mother told WGCL that she died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police told WGCL that they’re investigating surveillance video from a nearby gas station. They do not have any leads at this time.

Reports said that she moved to Atlanta to pursue a career in modeling.

The Clayton County Police Department released video footage that showed the moments before the crash. “We would especially like to speak with the driver of the white SUV and the driver of the gray sedan that is seen passing Kelsey’s vehicle as it is traveling in the lanes of oncoming traffic,” said police on Facebook.

A GoFundMe page was set up to pay for her funeral. It explained that a family member “got the most horrible call one could get about her sister Kelsey Quayle she has been shot in the neck and is on life support fighting for her life” near Atlanta.

Her family traveled to Georgia “to be by her side at all cost,” the page said. “I just want to thank everyone who has donated, it means so much to our family and is such a blessing to see the impact Kelsey left on others,” they said in an update.
