LOS ANGELES—A recent investigation into organized retail thefts near MacArthur Park netted several arrests, including two children who allegedly tried to sell stolen merchandise to street vendors, authorities said Friday.
Investigators focused on identifying stolen goods being resold to street vendors along the Alvarado Corridor between Wilshire Boulevard and Sixth Street, the LAPD reported.
Among the arrestees was Yoselin Quintanilla, a 31-year-old Los Angeles woman who was booked on suspicion of felony receiving stolen property, police said.
Also arrested were three juveniles ranging from 11 to 15 years of age, who allegedly tried to sell stolen merchandise to vendors on the corridor, police said. Three other juveniles were detained by authorities but released—two of them to a diversion program, and one to her parents.
Several adults were arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor receiving stolen property and one was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting, police said.
“As a result of this operation, approximately $4,600 in stolen merchandise was recovered,” police said. “The merchandise that was identifiable was recovered and returned to the retailer.”
