SANTA ANA, Calif.—A second man has been charged with the killing of a man in Huntington Beach in December and was expected to make his first appearance in court Feb. 1.
Jermaine Anthony Bell, 39, was charged with murder with a special circumstances allegation of lying in wait for the victim.
Bell was arrested in Arizona, but waived extradition and was brought back to Orange County, where he was jailed Tuesday. Bell was scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
Co-defendant Tyrell Avion Lee, 33, of Temecula, was charged Dec. 20 with murder with a special circumstances allegation of lying in wait.
Lee and Bell are accused of killing 31-year-old Jimmy Sengpaseauth of Los Angeles on Dec. 5, according to authorities. Lee was arrested Dec. 17 in Moreno Valley and pleaded not guilty Jan. 20.
Police were called at about 8 p.m. the night of the killing to a report of shots fired in the 5200 block of Tasman Drive. When officers arrived they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
