An ambulance arrived at the West Wing of the White House on Aug. 30, to attend to an emergency regarding a National Security Council (NSC) staffer.
Photos showed emergency service personnel bringing a stretcher into the building.
The identity of the staffer was not disclosed.
“The National Security Council is the President’s principal forum for considering national security and foreign policy matters with his senior national security advisors and cabinet officials. Since its inception under President Truman, the Council’s function has been to advise and assist the President on national security and foreign policies. The Council also serves as the President’s principal arm for coordinating these policies among various government agencies,” says the NSC’s website, adding that the NSC was established in 1947.
Bolton was named as the head of the NSC after H. R. McMaster stepped down in March 2018. McMaster had replaced Michael Flynn.
Other details about the incident are not clear.
