The city released pictures and information about each victim.
They were:
Laquita Brown, right-of-way agent at public works Tara Welch Gallagher, an engineer at public works Mary Louise Gayle, right-of-way agent at public works Alexander Mikhail Gusev, right-of-way agent at public works Katherine Nixon, an engineer at public utilities Richard Nettleton, an engineer at public utilities Christopher Kelly Rapp, an engineer at public works Ryan Keith Cox, an account clerk at public utilities Joshua Hardy, an engineering technician at public utilities Michelle “Missy” Langer, an administrative assistant at public utilities Robert “Bobby” Williams, a special projects coordinator at public utilities Herbert “Bert” Snelling, a contractor for the city
“We are devastated at the loss of our friends and colleagues,” the city said in a statement.
The victims were being mourned by family, friends, and officials.
Sinda Price was among those reacting, mourning Laquita Brown.
“It still doesn’t feel real. I can’t believe she’s gone... She was one of those people who just lit up a room. Every room... And now that light is gone, and my heart can’t stop hurting,” she wrote on Facebook, sharing a Bible verse.
