Scullin, who lived in the victim’s house and was poised to marry her daughter, was charged with murder in conjunction with the shooting and stabbing death of the Ohio sixth grade teacher.
Pleskovic was found dead in her home earlier this week, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Investigators linked Scullin to the killing after a search of his truck turned up a knife with Pleskovic’s blood on it and Scullin’s DNA.

It was Scullin who made the initial 911 call from the crime scene—the kitchen of the victim’s Blazing Star Drive home in the Cleveland suburb of Strongsville.
“We found her in the kitchen. She’s not moving,” Scullin told the dispatcher.
“There’s a lot of blood,” he said.
The victim’s husband, also on location, made a separate call to 911 reporting the incident.
“I think my wife is dead,” Bruce Pleskovic told 911.
Scullin’s bond was set at $1 million in the Friday arraignment in Cuyahoga County and he faces a grand jury on Nov. 13.
The accused had been living with the Pleskovic family and had fathered a child with Melinda’s daughter, Anna. The two planned to marry last Saturday, but the wedding was canceled for Pleskovic’s funeral, at which Scullin was a pallbearer.
