Authorities have arrested 51 people and seized 29 firearms as part of a weeklong operation from May 11 to May 17, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

The felony arrests and firearms seizure, which included six ghost guns, occurred after 20 search warrants were served targeting gang members and other individuals not allowed to own guns, authorities said.

The warrants were served in San Bernardino, Adelanto, Hesperia, Victorville, and Apple Valley as part of Operation Consequences, an ongoing crime suppression effort by the sheriff’s department, according to the statement.

The operation targets gangs and aims to “arrest criminals who are illegally possessing, manufacturing and trafficking firearms,” according to the statement.

The campaign is aimed at the high desert area and the sheriff’s jurisdiction surrounding the city of San Bernardino. It will continue for the next several months.

The previous intervention by Operation Consequences from May 4 to May 10 resulted in nine search warrants served, leading to eight arrests, the seizure of 29 firearms and the recovery of over three and one-half pounds of illegal narcotics, the statement said.
