3 Robbery Suspects Holed Up in Smoke Shop Surrender to Police

LOS ANGELES—Three robbery suspects holed up inside a smoke shop in the Sunland neighborhood Sunday morning surrendered to police without incident, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched at about 1:30 a.m. to a robbery in progress call in the 8500 block of Foothill Boulevard, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division reported.

There were three suspects inside Platinum Smoke Land at 8530 Foothill Blvd., with at least one of them armed, police said.

A SWAT team was called to the scene at 3:30 a.m. and the suspects were taken into custody at about 5 a.m.

A woman was involved in the incident, but her role in the alleged robbery was not immediately known, police said.

No injuries were reported, and no further information was immediately available.
