In a situation almost straight out of a Hollywood movie, three people were rescued from a car that was teetering on the edge of a cliff in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

California Highway Patrol responded to a phone call reporting the incident on Old Mill Road on January 13, according to the agency. At first it was reported that the car was stuck on the edge of a ditch. But when an officer arrived at the scene, he saw that the vehicle was hanging over a cliff with three occupants still inside.

“They were scared for their lives and were in disbelief,” the California Highway Patrol’s Facebook post reported.

The officer was able to calmly direct all three trapped occupants safely out of the vehicle. There were no injuries reported.
