The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects in recent retail thefts at clothing and cosmetic stores.
In the latest theft Nov. 24, three suspects stole $15,000 in clothing from a store called “
Feature,” located in Calabasas, an upscale suburb located about 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
The store sells limited-edition footwear, high-end apparel, and accessories from top-tier brands, according to its website.
Three female suspects entered the store on Commons Way at about 6:10 p.m. and began quickly taking items from the clothing racks before leaving and driving away in a white Audi sedan with no license plates, according to a Dec. 9
alert from the sheriff’s department.
Another grand theft happened in the city at about 5:20 p.m. Nov. 13. A man wearing a blue hoodie sweatshirt and red sweatpants allegedly entered the Sephora store, a cosmetic retail outlet, also on Commons Way.
The suspect allegedly walked into the store’s fragrance section and took several Tom Ford and Yves Saint Laurent items valued at about $1,300, hid them inside his sweatshirt, and left. He was seen getting into a silver Nissan SUV and leaving the area, according to a Dec. 9 sheriff’s
bulletin.
In an earlier incident Nov. 3, suspects identified as members of a Romanian theft group stole about $3,600 in items from a Sephora store in Malibu, a coastal community favored by celebrities about 30 miles west of Los Angeles.
Two female suspects entered the store on Cross Creek Road at about 12:40 p.m. and hid items from the cosmetics section inside what is known as a “booster” skirt, which is a
skirt with a loose elastic waistband that can be used to hide stolen items, the sheriff’s department said in another Dec. 9 alert.
The women then left the store and hopped into a black 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan, according to the sheriff’s department.
Detectives have not yet received any leads or made arrests in any of the three cases, a sheriff’s department sergeant told The Epoch Times Dec. 11.
