Law enforcement recently made 23 felony arrests and seized 29 firearms in an operation in the San Bernardino, California, region.

Between June 1 and June 7, investigators with the San Bernardino County sheriff’s gangs and narcotics division, and officers with the California Highway Patrol, local police, federal marshals, and Homeland Security investigators, focused efforts in the High Desert, including in San Bernardino, Adelanto, Hesperia, Victorville, and Apple Valley.

The investigation, called “Operation Consequences,” also netted the seizure of six ghost guns.

The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors authorized funding for the operation.

“The intent is to provide additional funding to the Sheriff’s Department, allowing for increased law enforcement services related to quality-of-life issues affecting the communities in our county,” the sheriff’s department said in a news release June 10.

Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Gloria Huerta said Operation Consequences will continue running operations. The operation began in October 2022, aiming to fight crime in the High Desert and areas surrounding the city of San Bernardino.
