Two 15-year-old boys were shot during an attempted robbery at a street takeover on the morning of July 20 in South Los Angeles, authorities said.

Officers responded to a local hospital at 12:42 a.m. Saturday, where they learned that the victims were at a street takeover in the area of 54th Street and Western Avenue and were approached by three male suspects, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.

One of the suspects fired rounds striking both teens, who self-transported to a hospital, police said. Their wounds were described as non-life-threatening.

The three suspects drove off in a vehicle, but no suspect or vehicle description was immediately available.
