LOS ANGELES—Two brothers have been arrested by police investigating an armed robbery at a Granada Hills residence where one of the men had gone to film a rap video, authorities said on Aug. 24,
Taurean Bartlett, a musician known as “Trench Baby,” and his brother Taurus, a musician known as “Polo G,” were arrested on Aug. 23, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Taurean, 18, was booked on suspicion of robbery and was being held on $100,000 bail; and Taurus, 24, was booked on suspicion of possession of a short-barreled rifle and was being held without bail, according to the police department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
According to police, the robbery occurred about 5 p.m. on Aug. 15 in the 18500 block of Clydesdale Avenue in Granada Hills.
“Through the investigation, it was determined the suspect and victim knew each other from a prior working relationship,” police said in a statement.
“The victim arrived at the suspect’s residence to film a rap video,” police said. “At that time, the suspect produced a handgun with an extended magazine and demanded that the victim transfer money to an unknown account over a money transfer service. The victim was in fear and complied. The suspect also demanded the victim empty his pockets.”
“The suspect was identified as Taurean Bartlett,” police said. “Taurean is a musician who goes by the industry name ‘Trench Baby.”’
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Taurean Bartlett and a search warrant for his residence, police said.
“Detectives gathered further intelligence that the suspect may be staying with his brother Taurus Bartlett,” police said. “Taurus is a musician [who] goes by the industry name ‘Polo G.”’
On Wednesday, detectives found the brothers and arrested them, police said.
“Detectives authored a search warrant addendum including the residence where Taurus Barlett was staying,” police said. “The warrant was served, and numerous firearms were recovered from both locations and a vehicle registered to Taurus Bartlett.”
Both men were booked at the Van Nuys Jail, police said.
