HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.—A 17-year-old boy behind the wheel of a 1998 Toyota 4Runner and his four passengers were injured in a single-vehicle crash in Huntington Beach, authorities said Feb. 20.

“All were promptly transported to local hospitals for medical treatment in various conditions,” said Jessica Cuchilla of the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The SUV was being driven at a high rate of speed northbound on Gothard Street, just south of McFadden Avenue, prior to the crash that occurred about 10:40 p.m. Sunday, Cuchilla said.

It was not immediately known if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash, she said.

The Huntington Beach Police Department’s Multidisciplinary Accident Team urged anyone with any information regarding the crash to call them at 714- 536-5666.
