An individual has been detained by authorities after a fire broke out in a San Clemente home April 7, according to media reports.

Firefighters responded to numerous calls made just before 5:30 a.m. about a fire in the 2300 block of Calle La Serna, the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) said in a post on X.

It took firefighters about 49 minutes to control the blaze, media reports said.

No injuries were reported by authorities, and the identity of the person detained by Orange County sheriff’s deputies has not been revealed.

Firefighters saved part of the house, but the damage total was $1 million: $750,000 in structural damage and $250,000 in contents, the Orange County Register reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
