President Donald Trump suggested that the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) kept silent on allegations surrounding Joe Biden’s son—who announced this week he is under investigation for tax issues—because they were protecting the former vice president.

“Why didn’t the Fake News Media, the FBI, and the DOJ report the Biden matter BEFORE the Election?” the president said on Twitter on Thursday night. “Oh well, it’s OK, we won the Election anyway—75,000,000 VOTES!!!”

Trump issued a follow-up tweet on Friday morning, saying that Attorney General William Barr “perhaps knew of the corruption during the impeachment” inquiry last year. Trump also suggested Barr may have known that his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was, in fact, “perfect.”
Trump also said in another post that the “Biden Administration will be a scandal-plagued mess for years to come” and because of that, it will be “much easier for the Supreme Court of the United States to follow the Constitution and do what everybody knows has to be done. They must show great Courage & Wisdom. Save the USA!!!”

The president appeared to be making reference to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s Supreme Court lawsuit against Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Michigan, alleging those four states made unconstitutional changes to their election laws, which disenfranchised every other state during the presidential election. Around 20 states and more than 100 U.S. House representatives have signed onto the Texas lawsuit.

Earlier this week, Hunter Biden and his father’s team issued statements confirming the younger Biden is being investigated by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware over his taxes.

On Friday, New York Post columnist Miranda Devine noted that the Hunter Biden story was being suppressed by mainstream news outlets and social media companies. The NY Post in October, citing emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop, reported that the younger Biden allegedly tried to set up a meeting with his father and a Ukrainian gas company executive in Washington while his father was in office. Biden’s camp denied a meeting took place.

“The New York Post story broke on October 14, which is more than two weeks before the election,” Devine said on “Fox & Friends.” “It should have been covered, and instead it was actively suppressed. It was ignored.”

Instead of reporting on the NY Post’s story, legacy news outlets attempted to focus on the narrative that the allegations against the Bidens were part of a Russian disinformation plot. Twitter also blocked people from sharing the NY Post’s initial story and blocked the newspaper from being able to make posts for several weeks.

“It was all a ruse to get their man over the line in the election, to get Joe Biden across the line with zero scrutiny into what really is a fishy story, and now of course they’re reporting it because they think that they’ve won,” she said.
