IRVINE, Calif.—Irvine police Oct. 28 were investigating a fatal collision that killed a 2-year-old girl riding on a scooter.

Police and firefighters responded at 8:05 p.m. Oct. 27 to the collision near the parking lot exit of the Cross Creek Apartments at 22 Creek Road, police said.

The girl was struck by a Honda Odyssey, police said. It appears the girl was riding her scooter on a sidewalk south on Creek Road when she was struck by the vehicle, police said.

The Honda’s driver remained on scene and cooperated with police, who do not think drugs or alcohol played a part in the collision.

The victim’s name was not immediately available.
