Three people died in Wales on Saturday in a paddle boarding accident on River Cleddau, according to Welsh police.
Two women died at the scene and a man, a former soldier, who tried to rescue them was pronounced dead as well, British broadcaster Sky reported.
Five more paddle boarders were pulled out of the river and taken to a local hospital by emergency services, Sky said.
A local official, Thomas Tudor, county councillor for the Castle ward of Haverfordwest, told Sky News the community was devastated, “it’s absolutely tragic news.”
