Author Steve Deace is warning that radical proponents of the new sexual culture, which has taken hold of America, insist on wiping out the male-female binary sexual identity while forcing people to “agree to their psychosis.”
The new LGBTQ ideologies insist that “I’m not even the same person I was created or born as. I’m not male, I’m not female. I’m non-binary,” he said. “In this case, someone is asking me right from the outset that I have to agree to their psychosis, I have to agree to their rejection of reality.”
In the old culture war, “I don’t have to follow someone who is living a moral life different than me into that immorality in order to acknowledge them.”
But in the new culture war, “I have to follow you into your insanity in order to acknowledge you. And by me acknowledging that, then I have to deny my own Creator who made you male and female … That’s called sin. I cannot do that. Not to mention, it’s insane.”
“When you start marketing this stuff to children, you start seeing these family-friendly drag shows, and there are dildos and sex toys, and everything else is laying out for children to see. And I think there’s a lot of people that maybe don’t care too much about gay marriage that are looking at this and saying, ‘Ah, hell no. This is insanity. Not happening on my watch.’”
Brandon Showalter, the second co-author of the book, criticized social media and influencers for trying to convince young people to believe they were born in the wrong body. Many of these young people were on the autism spectrum and suffered from mental health issues, he noted.
“It is physiologically impossible to become the opposite sex. We’ve seen this happen with previous social contagions, like anorexia, cutting, and other modes of self-harm that spread by social contagion. The same thing is happening with this situation,” Showalter said.
Consent and Compliance
The old culture war post the sexual revolution until five or 10 years ago defined left and right in a different way compared to the new one, Deace pointed out in his “Crossroads” interview.“If you were a little more liberal or left of center in nature, you agreed you had individual autonomy, individual agency, and the only limit on that would be that if what you were doing could be proven to have harmed another person. And consent was really morality. If another adult consented to your actions, then it was okay. And there was no higher value other than consent.”
“On the right, we used to say, well, there is another authority, your Creator, beyond just human consent. There is another ethic,” he noted. “And so, these two sides waged war for a generation. They both agreed on agency. They both agreed on autonomy. They just disagreed on who governed those things and what the limits on them were.”
“The new culture war is that either I have unlimited agency and autonomy to do whatever I want no matter how depraved it is, or as we saw during COVID, I don’t have any at all. I don’t have any agency at all. I have to be completely compliant, completely a ward of the state. And this, by the way, is spilling over into the moral issues.”
He described the effects of the new culture war by giving an example of boys showering in the locker room with their teammates after a sporting event.
“We might notice another kid naked in the bathroom. Maybe he looked different than me, he was more endowed or less endowed than me. You wouldn’t say it out loud, though. You kind of kept those thoughts to yourself, right?”
“What happens now is, I jump on TikTok. I make a video, and I say: ‘You know, I noticed another guy naked. Is there something wrong with me?’ Then what happens is a feedback loop gets created. You know, everyone on TikTok, everyone you know, jumps on and says, ‘You’re gay, you’re trans, maybe you’re really a woman.’”
“And you wouldn’t dare push back on that now. Because that would make you a bigot. And that exact same crowd will now turn on you. And you will wear the scarlet letter. And so, this momentum gets going and gets going and gets going. It gets fed into the subconscious.”
“There is no moral line that says, ‘Alright, let’s push pause on this here because it’s starting to get weird.’ And then, before you know it, you’re in a clinic getting counseled for gender reassignment surgery.”
This is happening because the number value in America today isn’t merit, morality, significance, or compassion, Deace noted. Instead, it’s “compliance.”
The Blowback
Deace also pointed out that the LGBTQ push would eventually result in a blowback. “I think that many of us thought we would have hit it long ago or by now. But there are anecdotal signs that we are hitting it now … What happened with Budweiser and Target, what’s happened to their stock, their market caps. The same thing with Disney.”The promotion of LGBTQ by companies is now “not nearly as obnoxious as it has been in years past,” he said. “And I wonder if, pardon the pun, the fear of God has been striking to some of corporate America.”
“Elon Musk made an excellent point the other day when he said, you know, in any other era, we would have already seen class action lawsuits by investors against companies that are publicly traded like Disney and Target—‘What are you doing tanking my stock like this for your political cause?’”
“Now, we haven’t gotten there yet. But I wonder if they’re backing from the brink because they sense that they might have brought us to the breaking point.”
Meanwhile, Bud Light, owned by Anheuser-Busch, sent a beer can to transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney featuring the trans activist’s face, a move that was criticized as pushing the transgender agenda. The can was created to celebrate a full year of Mulvaney transitioning.
Between May 1 and June 9, Target’s market capitalization fell from $72.52 billion to $58.61 billion—a decline of over 19 percent. Meanwhile, the market cap of Anheuser-Busch fell from $132.06 billion to $109.42 billion between April 3 and June 9, a decline of more than 17 percent.
