YouTube and other Google services went down early Monday.
Gmail and Google Drive also weren’t working for many users.
A Google spokesperson told The Epoch Times via email that the company “experienced an authentication system outage for approximately 45 minutes due to an internal storage quota issue.”
The outage started at approximately 3:47 a.m. Pacific Time.
“Services requiring users to log in experienced high error rates during this period. The authentication system issue was resolved at 4:32AM PT. All services are now restored. We apologise to everyone affected, and we will conduct a thorough follow up review to ensure this problem cannot recur in the future,” the spokesperson added.
YouTube’s team had said in a statement just after 7 a.m. Eastern Time that it was aware people were having issues accessing the service.
The situation led to “#YouTubeDOWN” trending on Twitter as people commiserated about the issue.
Some users said going into incognito mode in their browser enabled use of YouTube.
