Gan Jing World, a new, family-friendly digital content platform, launched a “Kindness Is Cool” event on Sept. 1 that has since taken off around the world. The platform is encouraging people to share acts of kindness with their families, schools, communities, and the world.

“The smallest of acts can make a big impact,” the announcement reads. “Gan Jing World invites you to share acts of kindness with the world. In your families, schools, and communities, showcase kind moments to help inspire others to do the same.”

“Nominate someone doing good deeds in everyday life who fills you with hope and joy, or simply share why ‘kindness is cool’ in today’s world.”

People can share videos, articles, or photos showcasing kindness with the #KindnessIsCool tag on Gan Jing World and be eligible to win up to $10,000 and be featured on a Times Square billboard. The event runs until the end of the year. Participants can follow the official Gan Jing World Stories channel for details, updates, and winner announcements.

Founded by former Silicon Valley executives who are concerned about the future of freedom and privacy on the internet, Gan Jing World is a platform for “wholesome content, free from violent, erotic, criminal, and harmful material,” according to its website.

“Kindness is cool,” said Dave Ramsey of the popular The Ramsey Show. “Here’s the deal, if you help people, if you love people, it always works out for you. Give it a try.”

Chris Furman, councilman of the town of Mount Hope, New York, said “I want everybody to just carry this on: kindness is cool. Remember your neighbors and take care of everybody.”

The Indonesian Education Office, Tourism Office, Transportation Office, Police, and the Indonesian National Army have joined in as well, sharing a video where staffers of the various government branches share the message that kindness is cool.
Kyle Kemper, grassroots campaign manager for the Kennedy24 campaign, said Gan Jing World and the event was “a really beautiful solution.”

“What the world needs is access to safe, clean, private, non-addictive social media or community engagement centers and it seems like what Gan Jing World is building has the potential,” he said. “Thank you for it.”

“Make your life positive. It‘ll help you in the long run and it’ll help this world in the long run,” said New York State Assemblyman Karl Brabenec.

“A little kindness every day can make such a difference in our world,” said Judge Karen Ostberg.

“Please spread the word of kindness,” said Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus.
