In a move aimed at creating a safer online environment, Gan Jing World (GJW) has announced the launch of its new Ethical AI technology being applied to its digital platform.
The announcement comes at a time when concerns about online addictions, children’s mental health, and harmful content are on the rise.
“At Gan Jing World, we believe that technology should serve people—not control people,” the company stated.
GJW’s Ethical AI suite comprises advanced deep learning models designed to measure and filter inappropriate content across various media formats, including video, image, text, and audio.
The technology aims to prioritize content that promotes kindness and mental well-being while effectively preventing cyberbullying.
The Ethical AI system incorporates three key content intelligence modules:
The first module, Video Quality Rating, evaluates the image quality and aesthetics of videos and thumbnails, rating content on a scale of zero to five for appropriateness.
The second module, Inappropriate Content Detection, has an accuracy rate exceeding 90 percent and identifies inappropriate content in video thumbnails and frames. It focuses on four primary areas: “sexual indication content,” “harmful drugs,” “violence,” and “horror content.”
The third, Textual Insights, analyzes unstructured text to point out tone, sentiment, and emotions while recognizing real-world entities. Supporting multiple languages, it can label inappropriate language for underage users and detect sentiment in content.
According to the GJW news release, the Textual Insights module can highlight and characterize emotions in content. For example, it detected sadness in the song “Jim Reeves–There’s a Heartache Following Me”.
“Creating a safe digital environment, especially for the next generation, has been at the heart of Gan Jing World,” the company said.
Family-Oriented Streaming Service
Early last year, GJW launched GJW+, a family-oriented streaming service. The service offers a variety of entertainment options for all ages, including original and licensed programming.According to the company’s website, the service distinguishes itself by curating content with traditional values in mind, appealing to families and viewers of all ages.
The platform’s name, Gan Jing, which means “clean” in Chinese, reflects the company’s commitment to providing content “free from gratuitous violence, sex, crime, and objectively harmful behavior.”
GJW’s mission extends beyond content curation.
The company said the platform aims to “reconnect users with morals and traditions” and “revitalize traditional connections through technology, fostering a culture of care, kindness, mutual respect, and trust among individuals, within families, and throughout society.”
A key feature of GJW is its non-addictive algorithm, designed to prevent endless scrolling and addiction. Instead, the platform prioritizes valuable information and inspiring content to promote meaningful engagement.
GJW also emphasizes user privacy and data protection.
According to the company’s website, GJW pledges not to track or sell user data, including likes, purchases, relationships, and location information. The platform maintains a private data center to ensure technical autonomy and protect user data from external threats.
To build community engagement, GJW offers features such as content creation tools, hashtag events, livestreams, polls, and topic discussions. The platform aims to empower creators like vloggers, filmmakers, writers, artists, and storytellers to showcase their talents and connect with followers.
