Ward’s Grand Slam Helps Angels Erase Six-Run Deficit in Victory Over A’s

ANAHEIM, Calif.—Taylor Ward launched a grand slam to help the Los Angeles Angels overcome an early six-run deficit and defeat the Oakland Athletics 8–6 on Sunday, July 28, thus avoiding being swept in the four-game series.

Ward’s fourth-inning slam into the Oakland bullpen in left field off Osvaldo Bido (2–2) was the fourth of his career and the fourth by an Angel this season. His previous grand slam was on May 4, 2022, also against Oakland. He has 16 homers this season.
