HONG KONG—The HKFA Premier League games resumed with Saturday’s (Sep 30) first game seeing Lee Man play Wo Foo Tai Po at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground. Lee Man took an 8th minute lead when Jose Victor finished past Wo Foo Tai Po goalkeeper Tsang Man-fai from Hui Ka-ok’s pass, but were pegged back by a 32nd minute equaliser from Igor Sartori after Felix Luk had saved Andrew Russell’s effort for a 1-all half time scoreline. Despite Lee Man restoring their lead in the 52nd minute when Wong Chun-him finished from Tse Lok-him’s right wing cross, Wo Foo Tai Po fought back for a share of the points through Dhiego Martin’s 70th minute strike and a 2-all result.

The late game saw Hong Kong Pegasus take on Eastern Long Lions at the Hong Kong Stadium, with Hong Kong Pegasus claiming the points courtesy of the game’s solitary goal from Travis Major’s header and a 1-nil victory.

In Sunday’s (Oct 1) first match between BC Rangers and Sun Bus Yuen Long at Sham Shui Po Sports Ground, the game was another decided by a solitary goal, with Alexander Rancelovic’s fine shot giving Sun Bus Yuen Long the 1-nil win and the 3 points.

In the later game, Dreams FC played Kwoon Chung Southern at Tsing Yi Sports Ground, with Lam Hin-ting firing a 17th minute opener for Dreams FC, before Michael Luk’s deflected shot brought Kwoon Chung Southern a 30th minute equaliser. However, Joaquin Garcia’s 38th minute interception and finish restored Dreams FC’s lead, which they extended in the 45th minute for a 3-1 half time lead when Ignacio Martinez fired in Joaquin Garcia’s corner kick. Despite Kwoon Chung Southern cutting the deficit in the 71st minute when Marcos Jiminez finished after Zeshan Rehman had headed on Che Runqiu’s throw, Dreams FC immediately struck back in the 74th minute to restore their 2 goal advantage, when Lam Hin-ting collected his brace, firing home after Ignacio Martinez’s shot had been blocked, to end 4-2 winners..

Hong Kong Pegasus lead the early table with 10 points from 4 matches, with Wo Foo Tai Po second on 8 points from the same games, and Kitchee and Dreams FC third with 7 points each, the former from 3 matches, and the latter from 4 games.

In the first division fifth round, HKFC were 4-2 victors over Citizen, Eastern District were 3-nil winners against Kwun Tong, Wanchai were beaten nil-2 by Hoi King, Metro Gallery won 2-nil against South China, Sun Hei were 2-1 victors over Double Flower, (Sparta Rotterdam) Mutual were 6-3 winners against Wong Tai Sin, and Sha Tin won 3-1 against Tung Sing.

HKFC and Sparta Rotterdam lead the table with 15 points from 5 matches, with Sun Hei and Sha Tin joint third with 13 points from the same matches.

In the second division, Central & Western were 4-nil victors over GFC Friends, Sai Kung drew 1-all with Sham Shui Po, and Kwun Tong were beaten 1-2 by Fu Moon.

Central & Western lead the early table with 12 points from 4 matches, with Happy Valley and Kwong Wah second with 9 points from 3 wins each.

Golik North District lead the early third division table being the only team with 6 points from 2 games played.

Yau Yee League

There were no league matches in the Yau Yee League this week due to the first round of the Yau Yee League Cup, with the first division teams having a bye until the next round .
