Galaxy Beats Rapids to Take Over First Place in Western Conference

CARSON, Calif.—Joseph Paintsil recorded one goal and two assists to help the LA Galaxy produce a 3–2 Major League Soccer victory over the Colorado Rapids on Wednesday night, July 17.

Diego Fagundez and Riqui Puig added goals, and Gabriel Pec had two assists as the Galaxy (13–5–7, 46 points) bounced back from a 2–0 road loss to FC Dallas on Saturday. The win, combined with Real Salt Lake and Los Angeles FC playing to a 1–1 tie on Wednesday, moved the Galaxy into first place in the Western Conference.
