Australia’s Olivia Gadecki and Poland’s Magdalena Frech won their respective semifinals at the Guadalajara Open on Saturday to reach the final of the WTA 500 event.
Gadecki, ranked 152 in the world, beat Colombia’s Camila Osorio 6–2, 6–3 in the first semifinal.
Poland’s Frech, the five seed, knocked out four seed Caroline Garcia of France in the second semifinal.
Garcia let a set point slip away in the first set as Frech battled back to win the set on a tiebreak before clinching the second set 7–5 and securing her spot in Sunday’s final to face Gadecki.
