4 Illegal Immigrants Arrested in Burglary at Home of Bengals QB Joe Burrow

Ohio law enforcement has arrested four Chilean nationals who are in the United States illegally for allegedly burglarizing the home of star NFL quarterback Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.

The suspects are Sergio Cabello, 38; Bastian Morales, 23; Alexander Chavez, 24; and Jordan Sanchez, 22.

They each were charged with engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, participating in a criminal gang, and possessing criminal tools. Their bond was set at $250,000, and they are behind bars.

The Epoch Times has reached out to Burrow’s agent, Brian Ayrault, for comment.

The incident was among a number of burglaries of multimillion-dollar homes lately, according to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost.

The burglary was on Dec. 9, while the Bengals were playing the Dallas Cowboys, and the arrest occurred earlier this month. Burrow’s house, which is outside Cincinnati, was vandalized and ransacked, and there were no injuries. Items allegedly stolen included a Bengals hat and a shirt from Louisiana State University, Burrow’s alma mater.

This season, Burrow threw for 43 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Burrow was not the only NFL player whose house was burglarized recently. The homes of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce were targeted in October.

The homes of NBA players Mike Conley Jr. of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Bobby Portis of the Milwaukee Bucks were burglarized in September and November, respectively.

News of the arrests followed President Donald Trump’s executive orders targeting illegal immigration upon taking office on Jan. 20.

The U.S. House of Representatives is also set to pass on Jan. 22 the Laken Riley Act, which would require Immigration and Customs Enforcement to arrest illegal immigrants who commit burglaries and certain other crimes. It was named after a nursing student in Georgia who was killed in February 2024 by an illegal immigrant, who is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.
