NEW YORK - Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer said that he would like to run for public office again after resigning in 2008 over a prostitution scandal.
“I love politics,” Spitzer told Fortune magazine in a recent interview. “The substance, the debate about the issues.”
Since his resignation, Spitzer has written a column for Slate and taught college courses. He also has a book due out later this month. However, he experiences “unceasing agony” for “not being where I would like to be,” according to excerpts from the article. He concluded it’s unlikely he will run for office again in 2010, saying his family wouldn’t go for it.
