Fans of Sons of Anarchy have been following news about the upcoming season 7--the last season--closely, and some websites have tried to do so as well.

Some of the websites have been speculating about what will happen in the season. For instance, the notoriously poor examiner.com cited the equally poor ibtimes.com in speculation that season 7 will begin weeks before Tara’s death.

“Kurt Sutter has said previously that he doesn’t like to do flashbacks, so the news that season 7 will kick off weeks before Tara’s murder is interesting,” said the examiner. “For him to do that, viewers could end up seeing scenes that were not aired last season. Repeating what fans have already seen isn’t Sutter’s style, so chances are he is going to do something a bit different to keep it fresh and new.”

Sutter then proceeded to share the link to the examiner article on Twitter, where he frequently interacts with fans. “And S7 is completely in iambic pentameter, filmed in black & white, and the antagonist is a schizophrenic tree nymph,” he said.

Even though it was pretty obvious that he was being sarcastic, a number of websites took his words at face value--including examiner and ibtimes.

“Sons of Anarchy Season 7 in Black and White?” read one headline from ibtimes, which actually used Sutter’s quote in three articles, since it writes multiple, similar articles about most subjects in order to try to game search engines.

Similarly, examiner said the Sutter responded to some speculation about what will happen in season 7, then quoted his sarcastic tweet.

Fans agreed that the original article was pretty bad.

“Some creative folks out there #not,” said one.

“Examiner is the worst,” said another.

Sutter hasn’t yet revealed the timeline for season 7, in regards to when it will begin in the Sons of Anarchy universe. The last season will kick off sometime in September.
