The upcoming Sons of Anarchy season 7 is the last season of the hit FX show, and will include some changes, both big and small.
One of them has emerged as the replacement for Eli Roosevelt, who was shot by Juice in the season 6 finale.
TVLine reported this week that FX is casting the recurring role of Alice Johnson.
She’s a fit, Caucasian 40-something who’s serious about her work but also boasts an edgy humor.
Previously this year, other cast commitments were clarified. CCH Pounder (DA Tyne Patterson) and Kim Dickens (Colette Jane) will appear in the final season but only in a limited capacity, two to four episodes each.
Drea de Matteo (Wendy Case) was promoted to a series regular, while Jimmy Smits (Nero Padilla) and Peter Weller (Charles Barosky) are among the regulars returning along with others such as Katey Sagal (Gemma Morrow) and Charlie Hunnam (Jax Teller).
The new sheriff in town seems to conflict with something show creator Kurt Sutter said earlier this year. He said that several new characters will be introduced, including new law enforcement officials.
“We’re trying to avoid the new sheriff in town device because we’ve kinda used it,” Sutter said in one of his video updates.
Meanwhile, the actors will get the first script soon as work for episodes 1 and 2 is done and work for episodes 3, 4, 5, and 6 is under various stages of development.
As for a projected premiere date, Sons is confirmed to premiere in September 2014.
In the previous six seasons, the latest in September the show has premiered has been September 11. There’s only two Tuesdays that early this September--September 2 and September 9. The latter is more likely because the show has also never premiered before September 3.
