SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico—Entrepreneur Anna Agosto felt that seeing Shen Yun Performing Arts, she found a true moment of peace.

“They bring hope, they bring happiness. We are living right now in a moment that is so hard with everything and all the roles that we need to work every day. And then you come break here and you feel like relaxed and connected and that heavenly atmosphere that we need,” said Ms. Agosto after seeing Shen Yun with her family at the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A Ferré on Feb. 7.

New York-based Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance company, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of Chinese civilization.
Through music and dance, Shen Yun aims to share with audiences China before communism, and Ms. Agosto said all the elements of the performance connected with her.

Witnessing that divinely inspired culture during Shen Yun’s opening night in Puerto Rico, Ms. Agosto felt it was a strong reminder of the need for a connection between humanity and the divine.

“We’re supposed to live like that every day, and that’s so amazing because then you connect and you feel happy, and you feel the freedom with that connection,” she said.

She said Shen Yun’s positive energy had a ripple effect. “You’re going bring to everybody also around your area the same feeling, and that is important because we are like ambassadors, and that helps a lot about quality of life,” she said.

Ms. Agosto felt the traditional values she saw in Shen Yun were relevant and universal.

“It’s important because we are living right now a historical moment that is hard, and with all the situations worldwide it’s hard, and we need to be focused in the faith because it’s that’s the only way that, in the end, you’re going to have your celestial and other life that we need to live like forever,” she said.

Ms. Agosto said she wanted to express her gratitude to the artists for bringing Shen Yun to Puerto Rico.

“I love to see all these people right here having fun and enjoying with their families,” she said. She said she saw young children and grandparents alike enjoying the performance and was happy to have been able to see it with her own family.

“For me, it was more than a show. It was an experience with a multi-dimensional message that it’s so important to live a best quality lifestyle,” she said.

“I think it was pretty amazing. For sure, we are coming next year,” she said.
