In the lobby of the Granada Theatre, the mother-daughter duo couldn’t stop praising the show’s beauty.
“It’s absolutely beautiful. It’s very special,” Ms. Jennie Brand said. “The male dancers, the female dancers—their techniques and the way they moved—they’re so incredibly talented and made it look so effortless, almost like air.”
In 2024, the artists are expected to grace the venues of over 200 cities worldwide.
Ms. Sarah Brand, too, said the performers were “all so talented” and “super engaging.”
“It’s so neat. I particularly appreciate their ability for storytelling through dance. It’s been incredible,” she explained.
“The way they get in and out [of the backdrop], I’ve never experienced that before. I think it’s neat how they used it in storytelling,” she said.
Ms. Jennie Brand said Shen Yun has “increased [her] cultural appreciation for the history of China.”
The evening was “very enlightening. I didn’t know much about the spiritual traditions of China. So, I want to read more about it, too,” she said, adding that she resonated with many of the traditional values presented by the artists.
She also thought Shen Yun’s live orchestra delivered “just a spectacular performance.”
The first in the world to permanently combine classical Western orchestration with ancient Chinese instruments and melodies, Shen Yun’s original compositions resonate with the profound depths of the human soul.
Ms. Jennie Brand would love to tell all the performers that “they’re so talented” and “We really appreciate the beautiful performance they’re putting on.”
Each year, Shen Yun presents a brand-new set of choreography and compositions. So, even returning audiences can expect a surprise every time.
