Township Chief: All Chinese People Should be Proud of Shen Yun

TAICHUNG, Taiwan—As Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company staged its 2014 premiere in Taichung City at the Zhongshan Hall on the afternoon of March 12, many elites in the great Taichung area were attract to the performance. Amazed, Changhua County’s Lukang Township Chief Huang Zhen-Yan exclaimed, “Shen Yun Performing Arts is indeed remarkable. All Chinese people should be proud of it.”

At the heart of Shen Yun is classical Chinese dance, a system which developed over centuries.

Marveling at the exquisite classical Chinese dance presented by Shen Yun, Huang Zhen-Yan said, “I believe all of them (the dancers) must have undergone rigorous training and practice, so that they are able to perform so wonderfully.”

“The precision and coordination of their movements are perfect. The dances fully demonstrate the characteristics of Chinese folklore,” he said.

He believed that Shen Yun must place great importance on the cultivation of dancers, “so that all the dancers are able to perform with such a great precision in every detail,” Mr. Huang stressed.

Speaking of the high-tech animated backdrops, the Township Chief said that he felt awe watching the seamless synchronization of dancers and the backdrops in the program of Ne Zha Churns the Sea.

Headquartered in New York, U.S.A., Shen Yun Performing Arts was established in 2006 by a number of superb dancers and musicians, with the mission to revive the 5,000 years of divinely inspired Chinese culture. Illustrating ancient myths, historical legends and contemporary stories on the stage, Shen Yun ushers the audience into a world transcending time and space to experience cultural wonders.

In addition, through exquisite dance, touching music, vibrant color, splendid costumes, dynamic backdrops, and other artistic elements, Shen Yun demonstrates the traditional Chinese culture and the precious values and ethics on the stage. As a result, Shen Yun has become an international force to revive the authentic Chinese arts.

However, Shen Yun is banned from performing in China due to the communist regime’s rigid ideologies.

Regarding this issue, Huang Zhen-Yan said, “The (Shen Yun) show is the demonstration of traditional Chinese culture; however, it turns out that the Chinese people (in China) cannot see it. It’s indeed regrettable.”

“If available, I think all the people in Taiwan should see this great performance. I’d like to urge everybody to see the show,” he said.

Before he left, the Township Chief said in admiration, “Shen Yun is indeed really a very remarkable group. It’s the pride of all Chinese people.”
