SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—Dawn Meltzer is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner who has her own practice. On April 23, she and her husband, John Ireland, watched Shen Yun at Proctors Theater.
“The whole [performance] was a perfection, it was very meaningful.” Mrs. Meltzer said, “[Shen Yun] tells us that there is beauty and divinity in each human being, if we can focus on that, then we can make something good for our lives.”
New York-based
Shen Yun Performing Arts is a world-premier classical Chinese dance and music company. Its mission is to revive 5,000 years of Chinese civilization. Through the universal languages of dance and music, Shen Yun shows the world the beauty and goodness of China before the communist era.
It was the second time Mrs. Meltzer watched Shen Yun. She said, “It’s very meaningful. Everything, even the name ‘Shen Yun’ is so beautiful. There’s not too much in this world that has [the beauty] anymore.”
Mr. Ireland, owner of an adventure park design and installation company, also appreciated Shen Yun’s message. He said, “On the spiritual aspect of things, I really I found [
Shen Yun] very bold in some ways. I think the message was very clear without being intrusive or offensive. To me, it was just speaking the truth.”
“It’s very authentic.” Mr. Ireland concluded.
Mrs. Meltzer described how it was when she watched Shen Yun for the first time. “I saw Shen Yun for the first time when they were in Syracuse, New York. As I walked in [the theater lobby], it was a very incredible experience. Everybody was in the lobby, and all the tables were set up with merchandise. I could feel it, I started weeping, I couldn’t stop weeping.”
Mrs. Meltzer continued to say, “Then it was time to go in. I was so excited because I wanted to see Shen Yun for years. ... I knew there was something
very special. I was weeping and weeping because I could feel how special it is.”
“They are perfect. It’s all perfection.” She said after watching Shen Yun again.
