“I think it was so great that you could showcase the life and beauty of ‘China before communism,’ and how, maybe one day, that it could be again. So it does shed light and perspective and also hope,” Natasha Goodlin, a business owner, said.
“What impressed me the most was the synchronicity. There was not a movement out of order. All of the action, nobody moved out of order. They moved in perfect unison,” Richard Brittingham, who is a former doctor, said.
“I can’t imagine how they incorporate the live action to what’s on the screen but it’s just amazing, the way that it blends together,” David Castleberry, who is a business owner, said of Shen Yun’s patented technology that integrates an animated backdrop into the live dance performance.
“I felt that this was a traditional presentation that was very unique and spiritual, and I think the aspects of it that permeated for me was kindness and oneness that you could feel through the production. And so that was a stark contrast to what I normally see presented in China,” Richard Carter, who is a physician, said.
“I was happy to see them expressing the human values of kindness in there. That was very, very impressive. I definitely am leaving with a different impression,” Stan Solo, who is a former aviation instructor, said.
“It seemed like it was just such a beautiful place ... so just a great story to see what we don’t know of China from what we’ve all been taught, and see the beauty of it in that aspect as well,” business owner Nick Goodlin said.
“I think it’s great that they’re bringing back some significance of the past and reflecting on the limitations of China today and the freedom of its people,” Nolen Morgan, a former school principal, said.
