BOURNEMOUTH, UK—British television personality, author, and psychic Craig Parker and his wife Jane, a fellow psychic, saw Shen Yun Performing Arts for the first time at the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on Feb. 12 and found it a unique experience with a deep message.

“This is unique, and the world is waiting for it,” said Mrs. Parker.

“It’s very important, I think, that you get across a very important message in a very subtle way,” Mr. Parker added. “And what a way to have a revolution, really, that through art and through dance and through history, and I think it’s a very beautiful thing you’re doing there, actually.”

New York-based Shen Yun is the world’s premier classical Chinese dance company, with a mission to revive 5,000 years of Chinese civilization—China before communism.

The significance of the mission was not lost on the Parkers, who expressed support for the artists.

“China has 5,000 years or more of culture that we’ve lost in the Cultural Revolution in China, that was wiped away in such a short time. But I think the people of China are ready for something like this,” Mr. Parker said.

“It’s like a flower that seeds and those seeds spread on the wing and go to many, many places and then come back and re-seed the place they left from,” Mr. Parker said.

He felt Shen Yun has an impact on the world, and not just China.

“It’s a cultural change that can be very important, not just for China, but for the world as well,” he said. “Because the world is looking for a new change and a new way of doing things, and it has to look back to look forward. We need both.”

Traditional Chinese culture is divinely inspired, and the performance opened with the creation legend of China, with the Creator calling on divine beings to descend with him to establish 5,000 years of civilization. The message that humanity comes from the divine and seeks to return rang true for the Parkers, who said it was an important message to be reminded of in today’s world.

“I feel the world is ready for it now, and we’re waiting for it, and we’re going to embrace it,” Mrs. Parker said. “Now is the time for enlightenment to happen.”

Mr. Parker felt the spirituality of the divinely inspired culture was conveyed in a subtle way, but ever present in the elements of the production.

“It’s through the actions of the tremendous skill with choreographing, the harmony, the balance between yin and yang that’s showing in the dance itself, and the idea of inner peace, I think, comes through on this,” he said. “And actually, spectacular sets and the colors naturally make you want to look towards the higher.”

Mrs. Parker said the dance felt “very, very powerful, coming from a divine source.”

“The beauty and the energy from these dancers are as divine, and the colors are beautiful, very beautiful,” she said.

Mr. Parker felt the flow of the dancers on stage.

“It will lift many, many people, I feel. It’s a very important thing that they’re doing!” he said.
