PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Shen Yun Performing Arts performed at the Providence Performing Arts Center on May 11. Paul Roux, an environmental engineer and manager, enjoyed the performance and said: “I think it’s amazing. It’s my first time ever coming to the [Shen Yun performance at the] Performing Arts Center.”
Mr. Roux was close to the stage and appreciated the beauty of the dancers expressing the story in their movements. “Just the way it’s all choreographed and put together. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s the first show of this kind I’ve ever been to,” he said. “Being able to tell a story without using any words, with their body language and the movement, that’s pretty neat. It’s hard to do.”
Mr. Roux agreed that bringing back traditional Chinese culture is good for a nation’s well-being. “I think it’s important that they’re spreading the word that they’re doing this,” he said.
Shen Yun’s beautiful performance can reach everyone’s heart. “Absolutely. I'd agree with that. I’ll definitely come here again.”
Shen Yun ‘Very Moving, Very Captivating’
Tom Kosturko, the home care coordinator for Compassion Home Care in Fairfield County, Connecticut, shared his positive impression of Shen Yun’s performance. “I love it. It’s just absolutely beautiful—very informative, very moving, very captivating.”He said many aspects of the performance impressed him: “The colors, the wardrobes, the meanings of each story. It introduces me to a lifestyle that I wasn’t familiar with.”
He was very inspired by the show’s message. “Absolutely. Very much so,” he said.
Mr. Kosturko’s takeaway was that “we can’t take our freedom for granted and [should] respect, understand, and appreciate other lifestyles.”
