BUENOS AIRES—As the artists of Shen Yun Performing Arts entered the orchestra pit, the enthusiastic Argentine audience greeted them with warm applause.
Following the performance, as Shen Yun artists exited the theater, audience members who remained inside lined up to bid them farewell, offering heartfelt applause and watching as they departed.
“This is a return to the spiritual world ... casting aside materialism and embracing a return to the soul,” Adrián Comelli remarked after watching the show.
Elected president of the Professional Council of Civil Engineering (CPIC) in 2020, Mr. Comelli heads Argentina’s national regulatory body for civil engineering. As founder and president of two innovative construction companies, he is a pioneer in advanced structural engineering technologies in Argentina.
“Very vibrant and colorful, with impeccable coordination on stage,” Mr. Comelli said, particularly captivated by the interaction between the dancers and the digital backdrop. “The interaction with the big screen was especially striking. Everything was truly spectacular.”
He praised Shen Yun’s seamless integration of dance artistry with digital visual technology, which provided a novel viewing experience: “I’ve never seen anything like this before. The interaction between the performers and the projections was fantastic.”
He said the cultural mission’s relevance in today’s society, noting its role as vital guidance for the world: “This is a return to the spiritual world. Moving away from materialism and toward the spiritual realm. I think this trend is wonderful, breaking free from materialism to advance toward spirituality.”
Commenting on the inability of such a culturally significant performance to be staged in China, Mr. Comelli said: “It’s such a shame, truly unfortunate.”
