The broadcasted segment was created by Fei Tian students and Shen Yun dancers, showcasing techniques that exhibit the highest of standards in dance today, according to Gan Jing World.
It will be available for free for a limited time; afterward, the performance will be available for a fee on Gan Jing World and the Shen Yun Zuo Pin platform.
Fei Tian College provides several performing arts degrees, including one in classical Chinese dance, which has risen in popularity with the establishment of Shen Yun, and the artists in the broadcast gala will include Shen Yun performers.
The full gala will include an orchestra performance of Western classics and original works written by Shen Yun’s in-house composers, which seamlessly blend ancient Chinese melodies with the grandeur of a Western orchestra. The vignettes will include classical Chinese dance, as well as ethnic, folk, and story-based dances.
The performers will be using the “shen dai shou” (“the body leads the hands”) technique, which Shen Yun has pioneered around the world after its artistic director, Mr. D.F., imparted the method several years ago. As a result, the movements and expressive nature of the dance are amplified.
