DALLAS—Company Vice President Brian Davis and his wife Belinda Martin was thoroughly inspired by the beauty of Shen Yun Performing Arts after attending the company’s evening performance at the Music Hall at Fair Park on Jan. 24.
She is in awe of the artists’ “interpretation of the arts and how the dancers really bring out the culture and everything within their performance.”
As one of the oldest civilizations in the world, China’s 5,000 years of history is filled with breathtaking legends and rich traditions. Yet, within just a few decades of the Chinese communists’ rise to power, this magnificent culture was destroyed.
The spread of atheism quickly eradicated Chinese people’s belief in the divine. The cherished virtues and values learned from the teachings of Buddhism, Daoism, and Confucianism disappeared overnight.
Reflecting back on the evening, Mr. Davis stated that “it has been very educational to see the culture and religious beliefs and how steadfast everyone is to their roots and their faith.”
“I think that’s what took them out of China. It’s wonderful to see people stand up for what they believe in and create an event that carries on. I love it. It’s very cool.”
Mr. Davis commends the artists for their effort and added he would need some more time to process Shen Yun’s message because it’s “so significant, strong, and powerful.”
“It’s awesome. I love it. It speaks a lot to our time—people that are standing up for true values today. I believe it’s the right kind of values,” he said. “It’s really cool and inspiring. I’m just so proud of all of them.”
