Shen Yun Performing Arts took to the stage at the Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Downtown Los Angeles, California, on Jan. 17 and Jan. 18. Audience members were mesmerized and amazed by Shen Yun’s artistry.

“I was really able to capture the story through the movement. And you’re just amazed by the artistry and the physicality of it all,” said Ginger Greaves, an executive director of a company.

“Shen Yun is a sumptuous feast of just all senses: for the soul, the spirit, the eyes to consume, the ears, and it’s just a beautiful way of humanity, giving, loving others, and using all of your talents,” said business owner Monica McFarland.

“The mastery, the professionalism, their bodies—it’s amazing, it’s just amazing to behold. And also the multimedia where you see … It’s just incredible to me how these dancers suddenly become part of the movie in the background,” said Shila Ommi, an actress and producer.

“The pianist and the soprano was a combination that—it motivates. It made me cry a little bit,” said Edgar Paz, a business owner.

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive 5,000 years of divinely-inspired traditional Chinese culture and values to showcase “China before communism.” The efforts of the performers were highly appreciated and applauded by the theatergoers.

“The spiritual message is that, I feel like human beings for so many thousands of years have had so much beautiful spiritual wisdom,” Ms. Ommi said. “And it’s just wonderful to be in touch with that, and it’s wonderful to re-discover it.”

“Shen Yun, to me, it’s something divine—that the human beings are interpreting the divinity of creation, whatever people’s beliefs are. There’s something special and spiritual in the art and the way it affects people,” said Dragana Balaban, an attorney.

“I love that, just the idea of it, that there’s a greater being, and people are looking for some light in their life. So I think it’s good to have,” said Anthony Oliver, also a business owner.

“It was amazing, it was incredible, wonderful. I’ve never seen anything like that. Really, honestly, it’s very different from anything else, from any other stage performance. It’s beautiful,” said business owner Dawnmarie Bailey.

Shen Yun will be performing at the Johnny Mercer Theatre at the Savannah Civic Center in Savannah, Georgia, on Jan. 21 and Jan. 22.
