BUENOS AIRES—Shen Yun Performing Arts premiered at the iconic Teatro Ópera in Buenos Aires on April 17, delivering a breathtaking celebration of 5,000 years of Chinese culture to a sold-out audience.

Former Argentine Vice President Carlos Ruckauf, a towering figure in the nation’s political history, attended the performance alongside his wife.
Mr. Ruckauf, who has served as Minister of Labor, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador to Italy, Governor of Buenos Aires Province, and the first vice president since 1938 to complete a constitutional term, was deeply moved by the artistry and message of Shen Yun.
New York-based Shen Yun’s portrayal of China’s spiritual reverence for the divine resonated strongly with Mr. Ruckauf.
“These principles are fundamental. In today’s materialistic world, having such spirituality is crucial,” he said.
He added, “I feel connected to these values, and the feeling persists. I also experienced beauty.”
Among the evening’s highlights, Mr. Ruckauf was particularly struck by the “Water Sleeve” dance, a classical Chinese dance known for its flowing, elegant movements. “Everything about the performance impressed me, especially the ‘Water Sleeves’ dance, so graceful and unforgettable,” he said.
Addressing the Shen Yun artists directly, Mr. Ruckauf expressed his admiration: “Your performance is so brilliant and captivating—truly remarkable!”
