FÜSSEN, Germany—Tickets to see Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein sold out months in advance.
“I am totally touched. It will definitely nourish my soul for weeks and months. We’re taking the energy home with us,” said Monika Pott, who runs the Academy of Knowledge with her husband.
The couple had seen Shen Yun before, and this time, they brought their grandchildren to the performance because they wanted to impart good values to them.
The Pott’s grandchildren were surprised that such crimes could still happen in today’s China.
“That really exists?” the grandchildren asked.
Mrs. Pott expressed that Shen Yun’s portrayal of the persecution was tastefully done.
“The music was also simply amazing,” praised Mrs. Pott.
“I had the impression that this lady’s fingers had merged with the instrument. That was simply fascinating. Even the pianist, the orchestra, the baritone—the entire performance was one cohesive whole,” said Mrs. Pott.
“It has become a bit dark on earth and experiencing moments like these are real rays of hope,” she said.
Shen Yun’s artists are trained in classical Chinese dance, one of the most comprehensive dance systems in the world.
Mrs. Pott said that the dancers were “such wonderful young people who give their whole life to carry this message into the world.”
Classical Chinese dance emphasizes form, bearing, dance technique, and tumbling techniques. Mr. Pott was moved by the fine details in Shen Yun’s dance.
“It brought me to tears for the second time today. This beauty, this elegance—just watching the hands, the way the artists move those fingers,” said Mr. Pott.
“We can only recommend that everyone treat themselves to this—Shen Yun is perfection,” he said.
