LOS ANGELES—Felix Leyva, a senior engineer, and his wife, Susie Leyva, recently retired, were touched by Shen Yun Performing Arts’ messages of faith and goodwill.
“It’s gone by quick,” said Mrs. Levya of the production, as she walked out of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion theater hall in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
“Beautiful,” said Mr. Leyva. “More than I expected.”
Mrs. Leyva especially enjoyed how the dancers interacted with the backdrop to bring the story to life.
“The backdrops are beautiful,” she said.
With state-of-the-art graphics technology, Shen Yun’s dancers interact with the backdrop to transpose the audience and bring the stories to life.
“It’s a nice message,” said Mrs. Levya. “We understand that China is suffering without being able to express themselves and practice their faith.”
The traditional Chinese culture was believed to be divinely inspired, and many audience members often share that they relate deeply to the spiritual nature of the culture and feel uplifted.
“This kind of brings it all back. It’s trying to bring everybody back. And we’re very faithful, so we love that that’s coming.”
Mr. Levya took home lessons of kindness and faith.
“That was big for us, too, because we’re Christian Catholics,” he said.
