ATLANTA—Scott Dufour, Senior Vice President at McKesson Health IT, and his wife Mary attended Shen Yun Performing Arts at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Centre on Dec. 27.
“It is our first time seeing anything like this,” Mr. Dufour said. “Yeah, so we are really enjoying it,” Mrs. Dufour agreed.
Shen Yun offers its audiences a rare glimpse into China’s 5,000 years of divinely inspired culture. Through classical dance, music blending East and West, and wonderous costumes, Shen Yun brings the wonders of ancient Chinese culture to millions across the globe.
Mr. Dufour was impressed by just how visually stunning the performance is. He said he was also surprised by the amount of history embodied in the show. “They tie in the dance with the history and everything else too,” he said.
“I like the story telling nature of it. I wasn’t expecting that, it was very historical and lively too,” Mrs. Dufour added. “I wasn’t expecting that.”
The music of Shen Yun is performed using all original pieces, blending the spirit and distinctiveness of Chinese music with the grandeur of a Western orchestra.
“I love the live music,” Mrs. Dufour said. “Usually it is all piped in music nowadays. So that is amazing that there is a live orchestra.”
As for the state-of-the-art digital backdrop on display during every performance, Mr. Dufour felt it was perfect, especially for the younger generations that are so engaged with visual electronics. “Integrating the graphics with the people,” he said. “That’s kind of neat how they done that.”
Overall, both husband and wife agreed that performance was amazing. “Yes, that’s awesome!” Mrs. Dufour said.
